Christy G Buckner, MS 2016
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Studio Art from Transylvania University and earned my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kentucky. I have 15 years of clinical experience in a variety of settings including: community mental health centers, in-patient treatment facilities, crisis counseling and advocacy centers, as well as private practice. Both my professional and life experience enhance my counseling practice, as I have successfully utilized counseling during challenging stages of my own life.
I have been married for 21 years to someone who is my partner and compliment. We have three unique children, of whom I am very proud. I love travel, nature, music and art. A perfect day would include all of these!
Last, I genuinely love people and have had the privilege of working with a diverse array of individuals and families with varied cultural beliefs and life experiences. I find that no matter how diverse we appear, at the core, we all have a fundamental need for love and human connection. Genuinely connecting with clients, in the counseling process, is both a joy and an honor.
